Contagrip® is Salomon's proprietary outsole rubber technology. It uses multiple rubber compounds within the same outsole — softer compounds in forefoot zones for grip on wet surfaces and harder compounds in high-wear areas for durability. Lug patterns are engineered per shoe: MA (moderate abrasion) for packed trail, TA (trail aggressive) for mud and loose terrain. Contagrip® consistently outperforms standard EVA or generic rubber outsoles on technical terrain.

What is sensiFIT™ and how does it affect fit?

sensiFIT™ is Salomon's 3D foot-wrapping upper construction. Instead of relying solely on lacing to pull the upper against the foot, sensiFIT™ uses a structural cage that wraps at multiple points around the midfoot. The result is secure lockdown that distributes hold across the foot rather than concentrating pressure at the lacing zone. This significantly reduces hot spots and movement inside the shoe on technical descents.
