What waterproofing do Berghaus jackets use?
Berghaus uses two systems: GORE-TEX® (their premium option — fully waterproof, windproof and highly breathable) and Hydroshell® (Berghaus's own membrane, strong waterproofing at a lower price). Both need an active DWR coating to perform — always tumble dry on low heat after washing to reactivate it.
Which Berghaus jacket is best for everyday wear?
The Wavertree Hooded Jacket is the most versatile everyday option — lightweight, packable and waterproof without the bulk of a full technical shell. For colder days, the Trawden Hybrid adds insulation panels while maintaining stretch and movement. Both layer easily over a standard midlayer or knitwear.
How should I size a Berghaus jacket?
Berghaus jackets are cut to accommodate layering. If you plan to wear only a base layer or thin knit underneath, sizing down one step gives a cleaner fit. If you want to layer a fleece or insulated mid-layer, stay true to size. We're happy to advise in store or online.
