Red Run Size Guide: How the Ranges Fit
How does Red Run fit? In our experience, true to size with a sculpted, athletic cut — and the sizes on the rail are specific. Women's pieces run XXS to XL and men's run XS to XXL across everything we currently stock. Leggings come in Sculpt and Perky fits with Regular and 7/8 lengths, and the tracksuit sets let you choose your top and bottom sizes independently. This guide covers every range — Sky Volt, Skyline, Elements, Midnight Moss and more — built from live size data on our own shelves at OD's.
1 | The Short Answer — How Red Run Runs
Red Run cuts for movement: a sculpted, athletic shape rather than a boxy high-street fit. In our experience selling it daily, most people order their normal sportswear size and it lands right — the four-way stretch in the leggings, bras and trousers does the adjusting for you. The brand's own guidance, which matches what we see on the shop floor, is true to size for the sculpted fit, and size up if you sit between sizes.
The sizes themselves are worth knowing before you browse, because Red Run uses lettered sizing rather than UK dress sizes on its listings:
| Range | Sizes listed at OD's | How it tends to fit |
|---|---|---|
| Women's — leggings, bras, shorts, jackets, sets | XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL | Sculpted and true to size, in our experience |
| Men's — tees, jackets, trousers, shorts, sets | XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL | Athletic taper, true to size for most builds |
Those ranges are taken from the live size selectors on our Red Run product pages, checked June 2026 — not from a generic brand chart. Note that Red Run's printed size chart references UK dress-size equivalents up to UK 18, but the sizes actually listed on current women's stock run XXS to XL, so that's the range we'd plan around. If a size you need isn't showing, it's worth a call — stock moves between the floor at 44 Barrow Street and the website daily.
The 10-second version
Order your usual sportswear size. Between sizes? Go up. Under 5'4"? Look at the 7/8 legging length. Buying a set? You can pick different sizes for top and bottom on the same page. Still unsure — ring 01744 730985 and we'll measure the actual garment for you.
2 | Women's Sizes Stocked — Category by Category
Every women's Red Run category we checked runs the same six-size span: XXS, XS, S, M, L and XL. That consistency is genuinely useful — once you know your Red Run size in one piece, it should carry across leggings, bras, shorts and jackets alike. Here's what the live listings show:
| Category | Sizes listed | Verified against |
|---|---|---|
| Leggings (Sculpt, Perky, Sculptured, Flared) | XXS–XL | Sky Volt Sculpt Regular Blue Leggings |
| Sports bras | XXS–XL | Sky Volt Strappy Blue Sport Bra |
| Shorts (running, cycling, sweater) | XXS–XL | Skyline Colourblock Running Shorts |
| Jackets (track, windbreaker, full-zip tech) | XXS–XL | Sky Volt Nylon Track Blue Jacket |
| Sets (jacket & legging, tee & legging, bra & shorts) | XXS–XL per piece, chosen independently | Skyline Track Jacket & Sculptured Legging Set |
For converting from a UK dress size, Red Run's own chart — reproduced in our main Red Run brand guide — maps the stocked letters like this:
| Label | UK | Bust (cm) | Waist (cm) | Hip (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XXS | 6 | 77 | 59 | 86 |
| XS | 8 | 82 | 64 | 91 |
| S | 10 | 87 | 69 | 96 |
| M | 12 | 92 | 74 | 101 |
| L | 14 | 97 | 79 | 106 |
| XL | 16 | 102 | 84 | 111 |
Two practical notes from the shop floor. First, the sports bras follow the same XXS–XL dress-size logic rather than cup sizing — the strappy cross-back styles carry removable pads and a wide underbust band, so they're more forgiving across cup sizes than a structured bra would be, though we'd still suggest the support level suits training rather than high-impact running for fuller busts. Second, the bodysuits, woven track pants and other capsule pieces rotate seasonally — sizing on those follows the same lettering, but check the live listing before setting your heart on a size.
3 | Men's Sizes Stocked — Tees, Shorts & Tracksuit Sets
The men's Red Run range runs one notch larger at each end of the alphabet: XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL on every men's listing we verified. The current men's line is built around three collections — Midnight Moss, Crimson Wave and Carbon Impact — covering technical tees, track jackets, quarter-zips, trousers, shorts and joggers.
| Category | Sizes listed | Verified against |
|---|---|---|
| Technical tees | XS–XXL | Midnight Moss Navy Technical Runner Tee |
| Tracksuit sets (jacket & trouser, tee & short) | XS–XXL per piece, chosen independently | Midnight Moss Track Jacket & Technical Trouser Set |
| Jackets, trousers, shorts (sold as separates) | XS–XXL where stocked | Trouser and jacket size options on the set listings |
The detail that matters: set sizing is independent
This is the one we'd flag above everything else for men. On the Red Run tracksuit set pages, the jacket size and the trouser size are two separate dropdowns — the Midnight Moss jacket-and-trouser set we checked lists all thirty-six jacket/trouser combinations, from an XS jacket over XXL trousers to the reverse. If you carry size through the shoulders but not the leg (or vice versa), you don't need to compromise or hunt for separates: pick each half in its own size on the set page.
Fabric-wise, the men's pieces we verified are built for training: the Midnight Moss tee is a lightweight 100% polyester short-sleeve runner tee, the set jacket is described as breathable, sweat-wicking and odour-repellent, and the matching technical trouser is a four-way stretch polyester-elastane blend with an adjustable waist. That adjustable waist gives the trousers more tolerance across sizes than most joggers — useful if you're hovering between two letters.
4 | Fit by Range — Sky Volt, Skyline, Elements & the Men's Collections
Red Run names its drops, and the names carry fit information once you know how to read them. Here's how the ranges on our shelves break down — based on the product labelling and what we see when customers try them on.
Sky Volt (women's)
The blue, charcoal and white capsule. Leggings come in Sculpt and Perky fits, both in Regular and 7/8 lengths, alongside strappy bras, cropped sweatshirts, windbreakers and nylon track jackets. The Sculpt leggings are 80% polyamide / 20% elastane with four-way stretch — contour-led, in our experience the closer of the two fits.
Skyline (women's)
The green SS26 range — the broadest current drop, spanning Sculptured and Perky leggings, colour-block bras, running and cycling shorts, baby tees, oversized tees, crew sweaters, windbreakers and track jackets, plus the widest choice of sets. Sizing mirrors Sky Volt exactly: XXS–XL throughout.
Elements (women's)
The softer, lounge-leaning range: hoodies, crew-neck and cropped sweaters, full-zip tops, baby tees and flared leggings in navy, green and cream. The flared legging is the one departure from the slim silhouette — it also comes in a 7/8 length for shorter builds.
Midnight Moss, Crimson Wave & Carbon Impact (men's)
The men's collections: Midnight Moss in khaki and navy (tees, jackets, trousers, shorts, sets), Crimson Wave in burgundy and blue (track jacket, quarter-zip), and Carbon Impact in black (tracksuit bottoms). All cut with an athletic taper, all XS–XXL where stocked.
On the legging fit names: Sculpt / Sculptured is the contouring, compression-style fit — the label Red Run puts on its signature legging — while Perky is the lift-focused cut. Both run true to size in our experience; neither needs sizing down to feel supportive, because the elastane content does that work. If you want the full story on the fabric technology behind these ranges — the four-way stretch, moisture-wicking yarns and shape retention — that lives in the main Red Run brand guide.
5 | Leggings Fit & Length — Sculpt vs Perky, Regular vs 7/8
Leggings are what Red Run is best known for, and they're where most sizing questions land. Two decisions to make — fit and length — and both are printed right in the product name.
Decision one: the fit
Sculpt (or Sculptured) is the signature contour legging. The pair we verified — the Sky Volt Sculpt Regular — is 80% polyamide / 20% elastane, with four-way stretch, a wide elasticated waistband, an elevated waistline, flat-lock seams and a side pocket. That elevated waist plus wide band is why the Sculpt holds its line through movement without digging in. Perky shares the size range and the stretch construction; the cut is built around lift through the seat. In our experience customers pick between them on feel rather than size — your letter stays the same in both.
Decision two: the length
Most Red Run leggings come in two lengths, listed as separate products: Regular and 7/8. The brand's own steer, which matches what we tell customers in the fitting room, is simple: 7/8 if you're 5'4" or under, Regular for taller builds. The 7/8 finishes at the ankle on shorter frames rather than bunching; on taller frames it reads deliberately cropped. The Elements flared legging follows the same logic, with a 7/8 flare available alongside the full-length version.
Legging sizing in brief
- Size: your usual sportswear size — the stretch adapts without going baggy
- Between sizes: go up; compression should feel supportive, not restrictive
- Length: 7/8 at 5'4" and under, Regular above — or 7/8 anywhere if you prefer a crop
- All fits and lengths: XXS–XL on current stock
One more practical point: every Red Run legging listing at OD's carries our Verified Size Information — Live Check note. We hold the stock physically at 44 Barrow Street, and our team will measure the actual garment — waist, inseam, rise — on request before you order. No generic chart guesswork.
6 | Tracksuit Set Sizing — Mix Your Sizes on One Page
The sets are the smartest-engineered part of Red Run's sizing, and it's worth spelling out because most brands don't do this. On a Red Run set page — women's or men's — you'll find a separate size selector for each garment in the set. We verified this on the women's Skyline Track Jacket & Sculptured Legging Set (jacket XXS–XL and legging XXS–XL, independently selected) and the men's Midnight Moss jacket-and-trouser set (jacket XS–XXL, trouser XS–XXL, all thirty-six combinations listed).
In practice that means:
- A medium top over small leggings — or any other split — is a standard order, not a workaround.
- Oversized-top styling works within the set. The Skyline oversized tee and sculptured legging set, for instance, lets you go up in the tee while keeping your true legging size.
- You're not locked to sets at all. Nearly every set piece is also sold as a separate — jackets, leggings, bras, shorts, tees — so you can replace one half later or build a mixed-colourway outfit from the full collection.
Which route is better? If you want the matched look in one order, the set page with its independent size pickers is the easy answer. If you already own half the outfit, or you're combining ranges — say a Sky Volt jacket over Skyline leggings — buy separates. Sizing carries across ranges in our experience, so your Skyline letter is your Sky Volt letter.
Set sizing rule of thumb
Pick each piece in the size you'd buy it alone. Don't size the set to your top half or your bottom half — Red Run's set pages mean you never have to.
7 | Between Sizes? Our Advice
This is the question we answer most across the counter, so here's the honest shop-floor version.
Default: size up. Red Run's own guidance says it, and our returns experience backs it. The sculpted cut means the smaller of two sizes can feel like a compression garment — fine if that's what you want, but most people want supportive rather than strict. The four-way stretch in the leggings, bras and technical trousers recovers its shape, so the larger size won't go slack with wear.
Exceptions worth knowing. The oversized tees and cropped sweatshirts are already cut generously — take your true size there, since sizing up doubles the effect. The men's technical trousers have an adjustable waist, which buys you tolerance if you're between letters on the bottom half. And anything labelled "relaxed" — like the woven pieces in the seasonal capsules — is loose by design.
When in doubt, ask us before you order — not after. Three ways, all quick:
- Phone: 01744 730985, Mon–Sat 9–5. Tell us your height, your usual size in another brand, and the piece you're looking at — we'll pull it off the rail and measure it while you're on the line.
- WhatsApp: message us with the product name and your usual size — we'll reply with a straight recommendation.
- In store: 44 Barrow Street, St Helens. Fitting room on site, the current Red Run range on the rail, and staff who sell it every day.

9 | Frequently Asked Questions
Does Red Run fit true to size?
In our experience, yes — order your usual sportswear size and the sculpted, four-way-stretch cut does the rest. The brand's own guidance matches what we see in the fitting room at OD's: true to size for the sculpted fit, and size up if you're between sizes. Oversized tees and cropped sweatshirts are generous by design, so take your true size in those.
Should I size up or down in Red Run leggings?
Neither, for most people — your normal size gives the sculpted fit the leggings are designed around. If you sit between two sizes, go up: the compression should feel supportive rather than restrictive, and the polyamide-elastane fabric recovers its shape so the larger size won't go slack. Don't size down for extra compression.
What sizes does Red Run come in?
On current stock at OD's, women's Red Run runs XXS to XL across leggings, sports bras, shorts, jackets and sets — roughly UK 6 to 16 on the brand's chart. Men's runs XS to XXL across tees, jackets, trousers, shorts and tracksuit sets. We verified these ranges against live listings in June 2026.
Can I mix sizes in a Red Run tracksuit set?
Yes — and you don't need to buy separates to do it. Red Run set pages at OD's have an independent size selector for each garment: on the men's Midnight Moss jacket-and-trouser set, for example, every jacket/trouser size combination from XS to XXL is listed. Pick each piece in the size you'd buy it alone.
What's the difference between Sculpt and Perky leggings?
They're Red Run's two legging fits, both in the same XXS–XL size range and both in Regular and 7/8 lengths. Sculpt (sometimes labelled Sculptured) is the signature contour fit with a wide elasticated waistband and elevated waistline; Perky is the lift-focused cut. Your size stays the same in both — choose on feel, not letter.
What brand is Red Run — and is it any good?
Red Run is a Liverpool-born, female-founded performance activewear brand built around four-way stretch fabrics, sculpted ergonomic cuts and ethical, limited-batch production. From the shop floor, we rate it highly for fit and fabric recovery at its price point. The full story is in our Red Run brand guide, and we've answered the quality question in depth in Is Red Run a Good Brand?
