What is a tote bag?

What makes a designer tote different
The silhouette is the same, but the execution is where a designer tote earns its place. Start with what you carry. If a laptop goes in daily, look for a structured leather tote with a flat base and a padded or reinforced section. If it is mainly a weekend and shopping bag, a softer unlined or lightly lined leather will feel more relaxed and fold down better. Consider closure: a fully open top is fastest to use but offers no security, while a magnetic snap or zip top protects the contents in a crowd. Finally, check the strap drop, the distance from the top of the handle to the bag, to make sure it sits comfortably on your shoulder.
