1 | What is ATX? — All Terrain Experience
ATX stands for All Terrain Experience. It is made by Alive & Dirty, which describes the label as "a bold extension to Alive & Dirty, built for those who move without limits." ATX pairs durability and comfort with street-ready style, designed to cope with the shift from city streets to open ground.
ATX makes menswear and kidswear. The ATX collection at OD's Designer Clothing is menswear, built around matched tracksuits, t-shirts and shorts.
What ATX is built around
Durability
Hard-wearing construction intended for regular training and everyday wear, not occasional use.
Comfort
Lightweight, breathable fabrics and relaxed or athletic cuts that move with you.
Street to terrain
Pieces styled to work on the street as well as for training, travel and the outdoors.
2 | The ATX ranges — what each one is for
ATX names its ranges rather than numbering them, and each range has a clear job. These are the ranges in the ATX collection at OD's.
| Range | Pieces | Built for |
|---|---|---|
| Traverse | Track top, track pant, tracksuit set | Training and the gym — four-way stretch, moisture-wicking, quick-drying |
| Horizon | Track top, track pant, tracksuit set | Warm weather and travel — lightweight, breathable woven fabric |
| Boulder 2.0 | Jacket, pant, jacket-and-pant set | Wind and light weather — a woven shell with an adjustable hood |
| Cascade | T-shirt | Training — four-way stretch performance fabric with ventilation |
| Alpine | T-shirt | Everyday activity — soft-touch, moisture-managing fabric |
| Tundra | T-shirt | Everyday wear — lightweight, moisture-managing fabric |
| Terra | Short | Training and hiking — quick-drying, with multiple functional pockets |
| Drift | Short | Training and sport — lightweight and breathable, relaxed fit |
T-shirts and shorts are also sold together as matched t-shirt-and-short sets.
3 | Fabrics and construction — what the tech actually does
ATX uses three broad fabric types across the range. Knowing which one a piece uses tells you most of what you need to know about where to wear it.
Four-way stretch performance fabric
Used on the Traverse track top and the Cascade t-shirt. It stretches in every direction for unrestricted movement, wicks moisture away from the skin, dries quickly and is ventilated — the training fabric.
Moisture-managing knit
Used on the Alpine and Tundra t-shirts. Soft-touch and lightweight, it keeps you cool and dry through everyday activity without the technical feel of the stretch pieces.
Lightweight woven
Used on the Horizon range and the Boulder 2.0. Woven fabric is more breathable and holds its shape. On the Boulder 2.0 jacket it forms a wind-resistant outer shell — for light weather, not rain.
Construction details worth knowing
- Traverse track pant: elasticated waistband with an adjustable drawcord, and a tapered leg.
- Horizon track top: full-zip fastening, a high collar for extra coverage, and secure zip pockets.
- Boulder 2.0 jacket: wind-resistant woven shell and an adjustable hood. It is not waterproof.
- Terra short: quick-drying fabric, elasticated waistband and multiple functional pockets.
- Drift short: lightweight, breathable fabric with an elasticated waistband and a relaxed fit.
Composition labels are on each garment. If you need the exact fibre content before you buy, call 01744 730985 and we will read it off the piece in stock.
4 | Which ATX tracksuit should you choose?
ATX makes three matched top-and-pant sets. They look similar on a screen but are built for different jobs.
| Traverse | Horizon | Boulder 2.0 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top | Zip-through track top | Full-zip high-collar track top | Hooded jacket |
| Fabric | Four-way stretch | Lightweight woven | Woven, wind-resistant shell |
| Best for | Gym and training | Warm weather and travel | Wind and light weather |
| Choose it if | You want movement and sweat management | You want the most breathable option | You want a jacket, not a track top |
None of the three is a waterproof rain set. For wet weather, layer a waterproof over the top — see our men's coats and jackets.
5 | Sets, separates and mixing sizes
Traverse, Horizon and Boulder 2.0 are each sold two ways: as a matched top-and-pant set, and as individual pieces. The t-shirts and shorts are also paired into t-shirt-and-short sets.
The set is the simplest buy when you take the same size top and bottom. If you don't — a medium top and a large pant, say — buy the top and the pant as separates, because a set comes in one size. You can also mix across ranges, pairing a Traverse top with a Horizon pant for example; the fabrics and finishes differ, so pick each piece for how you'll use it rather than for an exact match.
6 | ATX sizing and fit
Most ATX styles run XS to 2XL. Size availability changes as stock sells, so check the product page for the sizes currently in stock.
| Piece | Fit |
|---|---|
| T-shirts (Cascade, Alpine, Tundra) | Relaxed athletic fit |
| Shorts (Terra, Drift) | Relaxed fit, elasticated waistband |
| Traverse track pant | Tapered leg, elasticated drawcord waistband |
| Horizon track pant | Streamlined fit |

Frequently asked questions
What does ATX stand for?
ATX stands for All Terrain Experience. It is a performance sportswear label built for moving between the street and the outdoors, with an emphasis on durability, comfort and street-ready style.
Who makes ATX?
ATX is made by Alive & Dirty, which describes it as a bold extension of its own brand. ATX produces menswear and kidswear; the ATX collection at OD's Designer Clothing is menswear.
Is ATX good for the gym?
Yes, for most of the range. The Traverse track top and the Cascade t-shirt use four-way stretch performance fabric that is moisture-wicking and quick-drying, and the Alpine and Tundra t-shirts use moisture-managing fabric. The exception is the Boulder 2.0 jacket, which is a woven wind-resistant shell for light weather rather than a training layer.
Which ATX tracksuit should I buy?
Choose Traverse for training and the gym — it is the four-way stretch range. Choose Horizon for warm weather and travel — it is the lighter, more breathable woven range, with a full-zip high-collar top and secure zip pockets. Choose Boulder 2.0 if you want a jacket rather than a track top, for wind and light weather.
Is the ATX Boulder 2.0 jacket waterproof?
No. The Boulder 2.0 is a lightweight woven jacket with a wind-resistant outer shell and an adjustable hood, built for light weather. It is not a waterproof rain shell.
How does ATX sizing run?
Most ATX styles run XS to 2XL — check the product page for current size availability. T-shirts are cut to a relaxed athletic fit, shorts to a relaxed fit with an elasticated waistband, and the Traverse track pant has an elasticated drawcord waistband and a tapered leg. Call 01744 730985 and we will measure the garment from physical stock before you order.
Can I mix sizes on an ATX tracksuit?
Yes, by buying separates. Traverse, Horizon and Boulder 2.0 are each sold as a matched top-and-pant set and as individual pieces. If you take a different size on top than on the bottom, buy the top and the pant separately rather than the set.
How do I wash ATX clothing?
Follow the care label sewn into each garment — it is the definitive reference for that piece. If you want the care instructions before you buy, call 01744 730985 and we will read them from the garment in stock.
Does ATX make kids' clothing?
Yes. ATX produces a junior range alongside its menswear. The ATX collection at OD's Designer Clothing is menswear, sized XS to 2XL across most styles.
