Best UGG For…

Best UGG for everyday wear

The Tasman II is the best UGG for everyday wear. It is a closed-back slip-on with an outdoor-rated sole and the signature UGGbraid collar — a genuine indoor-outdoor hybrid rather than a traditional slipper, so it handles the house, the garden and the school run in one shoe. We stock it for men, women, kids and toddlers.

Best for: daily slip-on wear, indoor-outdoor.  ·  Consider instead: the Tazz if you want platform height.

Best UGG slippers

The Scuffette II is the best UGG slipper for pure indoor comfort. Its open-back design slips on instantly and is made for the sofa. If you want a slipper that can step outside, choose the Tasman II — closed back and an outdoor-rated sole. The Tazz adds a platform for a bolder look with the same plush lining.

Best for: indoor lounging.  ·  Consider instead: the Tasman II for indoor-outdoor use.

Best classic UGG boot

The Classic Mini II is the definitive classic UGG boot. Its roughly 5-inch shaft sits above the ankle — the established pairing for leggings and skinny fits — with sheepskin warmth around the lower calf. The Classic Ultra Mini is the shorter take, with an angled asymmetrical topline that suits wide-leg trousers and cropped styles.

Best for: the classic UGG look.  ·  Consider instead: the Classic Ultra Mini for a lower, ankle-skimming cut.

Best lightweight UGG boot

The Classic Micro is our lightest, lowest-cut UGG boot. It trims the Classic silhouette right down to a neat, easy-wearing profile that works as readily as a trainer would — ideal if you love the Classic look but want something less bulky. We stock it in Black, Chestnut and Sand.

Best for: a low, light take on the Classic.  ·  Consider instead: the Classic Mini II for more height and warmth.

Best UGG sandals & clogs for summer

The Goldenglow and Goldenstar are UGG's warm-weather picks. The Goldenglow runs from easy slip-on sandals to the canvas clog, with the Goldenglow Toggle in Mustard Seed our current UGG bestseller. The Goldenstar clog is the suede alternative in Chestnut and Sand. Both carry UGG comfort into spring and summer.

Best for: spring-summer UGG comfort.  ·  Consider instead: the Tasman II for year-round wear.

Best UGG trainers

The Lowmel is UGG's trainer. It brings the brand's comfort-first build into an everyday trainer silhouette — we stock the women's Lowmel in Rocky Oak plus kids' and toddler versions in Chestnut and Pink Dawn, so the whole family is covered. A strong choice if you want UGG without a boot or slipper shape.

Best for: everyday trainer wear.  ·  Consider instead: the Classic Micro for a low boot profile.

Best UGG for kids & toddlers

The Tasman II and Classic Ultra Mini Dazzle lead our kids' UGG range. The Tasman II comes in toddler and kids' sizes, the Ultra Mini Dazzle adds sparkle in Chestnut and Ribbon Candy Pink, and the Lowmel trainer covers active feet. For babies, the Bailey Bow Bootie in Ribbon Candy is the gift pick. Measure foot length rather than buying by age.

Best for: kids, toddlers, gifting.  ·  Tip: leave only about 0.5–0.7 cm growth room.

Best UGG for men

The Tasman II is the best men's UGG we stock. Men's UGG has been the brand's fastest-growing segment since 2022, and the Tasman II — in Black, Chestnut and Dusted Cocoa — is the easy entry point: an indoor-outdoor slip-on that pairs naturally with joggers and loose-fit jeans.

Best for: men's casual comfort.  ·  Consider instead: the Lowmel if you prefer a trainer.

Worth It

Are UGGs worth the money?

Yes — UGG is genuine product, not just a trend. Twin-face sheepskin is naturally breathable, moisture-wicking and thermoregulating, and it breaks in to your foot for a custom feel. UGG has crossed from trend item to wardrobe staple, and with a protector spray and basic care a pair lasts years of real use.

Best for: daily comfort that lasts.  ·  Tip: add the protector spray at purchase — it pays for itself.

Is the UGG Tasman II worth it?

Yes — it is the most versatile UGG you can buy. The Tasman II updates the original with a bio-based sugarcane EVA outsole and a 100% recycled polyester UGGbraid collar, keeping the plush lining and indoor-outdoor capability. One shoe that genuinely covers slipper duty and quick trips out is strong value.

Best for: one-shoe everyday comfort.  ·  Consider instead: the Scuffette II if you only wear slippers indoors.

Is the UGG Tazz worth it?

Yes — if you want the platform look. The Tazz takes the same suede upper, UGGbraid collar and plush lining as the Tasman and adds a chunky platform sole, giving height and one of the most photographed silhouettes in current street style. It is the statement choice; the Tasman is the understated one.

Best for: height and statement styling.  ·  Consider instead: the Tasman II for flat everyday flexibility.

Comparisons

UGG Tasman vs Tazz: which should you buy?

Tasman for flat, flexible everyday wear; Tazz for platform height. Both share the slip-on moccasin build, UGGbraid collar and plush lining — the difference is below the foot. The Tasman sits low and works with wide-leg styling; the Tazz's 1.75-inch platform anchors leggings and fitted looks. Full breakdown in our Tasman vs Tazz guide.

Choose Tasman if: understated, indoor-outdoor utility.  ·  Choose Tazz if: added height and a bolder silhouette.

UGG Classic Mini vs Classic Ultra Mini: which should you buy?

Classic Mini II for warmth and the classic look; Classic Ultra Mini for the lower, current cut. They are not the same boot at different heights: the Mini's roughly 5-inch shaft warms the lower calf, while the Ultra Mini sits just above the ankle with an angled asymmetrical topline that flatters wide-leg and cropped styling.

Choose Classic Mini II if: leggings, skinny fits, more warmth.  ·  Choose Classic Ultra Mini if: wide-leg trousers, ankle-skimming looks.

UGG Scuffette II vs Tazz: which should you buy?

Scuffette II for pure indoor comfort; Tazz for a slipper you can style out. The Scuffette II is an open-back slipper made for home — instant on, plush underfoot. The Tazz is a closed slip-on on a platform sole, built to be seen with leggings and fitted looks as well as worn around the house.

Choose Scuffette II if: sofa-first comfort.  ·  Choose Tazz if: height, street styling, indoor-outdoor wear.

UGG Classic Mini II vs Classic Micro: which should you buy?

Classic Mini II for the classic boot; Classic Micro for the lightest, lowest version. The Mini II gives the established above-ankle UGG boot look with more sheepskin warmth. The Classic Micro trims the silhouette right down for an easy, trainer-like profile that suits milder days and lighter outfits.

Choose Classic Mini II if: warmth and the classic shape.  ·  Choose Classic Micro if: low profile, lightweight wear.

Sizing

Do UGGs run big or small?

Neither — UGG runs generally true to size. Expect early snugness: the sheepskin or UGGplush lining compresses and moulds to your foot within the first two to three wears for a personalised fit. One key thing to know — UGG uses US sizing on every box and label. A women's UK 5 is a UGG US 7; a men's UK 8 is a US 9.

OD's tip: snug on first try-on is normal — it is the lining bedding in, not the wrong size.

Should I size up or down in UGGs?

It depends on the style. Classic boots: buy snug — the sheepskin compresses and gives room as it breaks in, and a boot that starts loose stays loose. Tasman and Tazz: true to size — the UGGbraid collar makes entry feel tight at first, but that eases with wear; sizing up to ease entry leaves the shoe too long once the foot is seated. Full tables in our UGG sizing guide.

Classic boots: buy snug.  ·  Tasman / Tazz / slippers: true to size.

Do UGG do half sizes?

Not across most of the range. If your foot measures a half size, UGG's guidance for Classic boots is to round down to the nearest whole size — a US 7.5 foot takes a US 7, and the lining gives the small extra room needed as it beds in. Wide feet or high arches? Round up instead. Our team can measure and convert your size in store at 44 Barrow Street.

Quick conversion: women's UK = UGG US minus 2; men's UK = UGG US minus 1.

Are UGG slippers, sandals and the Tazz true to size?

Yes — order your standard size. Open-back slippers like the Scuffette II follow the true-to-size rule: with no closed heel, sizing down would leave them too small. The Tasman II and Tazz are also true to size — their structured collar does not stretch, so the length you order is the length you get. UGG runs true to size across most styles, sandals and clogs included.

Rule of thumb: only Classic boots follow the buy-snug rule — everything else is true to size.

Materials & Technology

What is Twinface sheepskin and UGGplush?

They are UGG's two lining systems. Twinface sheepskin is a single natural piece — suede outer, fleece inner — that is breathable, moisture-wicking and moulds to your foot. UGGplush is the newer blend of 80% upcycled wool with lyocell, replicating sheepskin's warmth with more consistent feel across styles. Many current Tasman, Tazz and Ultra Mini releases use UGGplush.

Why it matters: both bed in over the first wears — that early snugness is the material working as designed.

Are UGGs waterproof? Can they get wet?

Standard UGGs are not waterproof — but they are easy to protect. Sheepskin suede is naturally porous, so apply a protector spray before first wear and light rain becomes manageable. Designated waterproof models like the Weather Hybrid styles use seam-sealed construction for genuinely wet conditions. Full steps in our UGG waterproofing guide.

OD's tip: two thin coats of protector before first wear is the single best five minutes you can spend on your UGGs.

What are Treadlite and SugarSole?

They are UGG's outsole technologies. Treadlite by UGG is a lightweight, cushioned compound with high flexibility and grip for daily wear. SugarSole is a renewable, sugarcane-based EVA that replaces portions of fossil-fuel-derived EVA — it features on the Tasman II, which is lighter underfoot than the original. Comfort at UGG is a system: upper, lining and sole tuned together.

Why it matters: current models feel lighter and softer underfoot than older stock — that is the outsole update, not a quality change.

Care

How do you clean UGG boots?

Hand-clean only, with cold water. Brush off dry dirt with a suede brush in one direction, dampen the surface evenly with a wrung-out sponge, work in a sheepskin cleaner, then stuff with newspaper and air-dry for 24–48 hours away from heat. Never machine wash, tumble dry or use a radiator. Full method, including stain fixes, in our UGG cleaning guide.

Golden rule: cold water, gentle cleaner, slow air-dry — heat is what damages sheepskin, not dirt.

What should I do if my UGGs get wet?

Dry them correctly, not quickly. Pat off excess water with a clean cloth, stuff the boots with newspaper to hold their shape, and air-dry at room temperature for 12–24 hours — never on a radiator or in sunlight. Once dry, brush the suede in one direction to restore the nap and reapply protector spray. Our waterproofing guide covers the full routine.

Remember: slow drying preserves the boot; heat-drying causes the damage.

How often should I use UGG protector spray?

Before first wear, then every 4–6 weeks in season. Apply two thin coats before the boots ever go outside, and reapply through autumn and winter, after cleaning, and after any heavy soaking. The simple test: when water stops beading on the suede and starts soaking in, it is time for a fresh coat. We stock UGG care products in store.

OD's tip: also spray before summer storage — clean, protected boots come out of the cupboard ready for autumn.

Brand

Are UGGs still in style in 2026?

Yes — UGG is stronger than ever in 2026. The Tasman and Tazz created a new cultural moment from 2021 that has deepened rather than faded, platform styles like the Ultra Mini Platform are among the brand's best-sellers, and men's UGG is the fastest-growing segment. See why in our UGG in 2026 guide.

Styling now: Tasman with wide-leg jeans; Tazz with leggings and fitted looks; Classic Mini with mini skirt and tights.

Where does UGG come from?

UGG is a California-heritage brand with surf origins. Founded in 1978, it grew from a post-surf comfort staple into a global icon through Hollywood adoption in the 2000s and streetwear crossovers since. Today the range spans classic sheepskin boots, slippers, clogs, platforms, sandals and trainers — comfort engineered into culture.

OD's take: UGG earns its place because it serves real British life — school runs, commutes and winter Sundays.
