Which Red Run Should You Buy? Every Range Compared
Which Red Run should you buy? It depends on which range fits your training and your wardrobe. Red Run Activewear — the Liverpool-born performance brand — organises its women's collection into named ranges: Sky Volt, Skyline and Elements, with menswear built around Carbon Impact, Crimson Wave and Midnight Moss. They share the same engineering, but they're cut and coloured for different jobs. This guide compares every range we stock — leggings, sports bras, shorts, jackets, tracksuits and full sets — plus sizing, colourways and fit, so you order the right Red Run outfit first time.
1 | The Red Run Ranges Compared — Sky Volt vs Skyline vs Elements
Red Run names its drops, and the name on the product tells you what kind of kit you're looking at. On the women's side the three ranges we stock in depth are Sky Volt, Skyline and Elements; on the men's side it's Carbon Impact, Crimson Wave and Midnight Moss. Here's the whole map in one table.
| Range | For | What's in it | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sky Volt | Women | Nylon track jackets, cropped windbreakers, full-zip tech tops, Sculpt and Perky leggings, strappy sports bras, tees, sweatshirts and matched sets | The deepest women's range — blue, charcoal and white technical pieces built to mix and match |
| Skyline | Women | Track jackets, cropped windbreakers, running and cycling shorts, sweater shorts, Sculptured and Perky leggings, colour-block bras, baby tees, crew sweaters — plus the most set options of any range | The green-led running range, with shorts formats the other lines don't have |
| Elements | Women | Hoodie, cropped and crew-neck sweaters, full-zip top, baby tees, flared leggings (regular and 7/8), colour-block bra | The softer, casual-leaning range — flared leggings instead of sculpted, sweaters instead of shells |
| Carbon Impact | Men | Tracksuit bottoms in black | The understated everyday black jogger line |
| Crimson Wave | Men | Technical quarter-zip top in blue, technical track jacket in burgundy, socks | The layering line — tops and jackets to train and travel in |
| Midnight Moss | Men | Technical tees, track jacket, adjustable technical trousers, panelled sports shorts, socks — and the full tracksuit and tee-and-short sets | The core men's range, in khaki and navy, and the only one currently sold as complete sets |
Sky Volt — the women's all-rounder
Sky Volt is the range most people land on first. It runs from a nylon track jacket and cropped windbreaker through full-zip tech tops, two legging fits (Sculpt and Perky, each in regular and 7/8 lengths), a strappy sports bra, tees and sweatshirts — most of it in a signature blue, backed up by charcoal and white. Because nearly every piece comes in the same palette, Sky Volt is the easiest range to build a matching Red Run outfit from, and several pieces are sold pre-paired as sets.
Skyline — the running range
Skyline is the green-led range and the one with the most short formats: colourblock running shorts, cycling shorts and casual sweater shorts, alongside track jackets, cropped windbreakers, technical sports tops and both legging fits. It's also where you'll find the most twin sets — jacket-and-legging, windbreaker-and-shorts, tee-and-legging, bra-and-shorts. The Skyline Track Jacket & Sculptured Legging Set is one of the most-bought Red Run pieces at OD's full stop.
Elements — the casual range
Elements swaps shells for softness: a blue hoodie, cream cropped sweater, navy crew-neck and full-zip top, baby tees, and flared leggings in place of the sculpted fits — regular and 7/8 lengths. If your Red Run will see more coffee runs than tempo runs, Elements is the range to start with, and the Baby T-Shirt & Flared Leggings Set covers both halves in one order.
The men's three
Menswear is more compact. Midnight Moss is the workhorse: technical tees, a track jacket, adjustable trousers and panelled shorts in khaki and navy, sold as separates and as full tracksuit and tee-and-short sets. Crimson Wave covers the technical layers — a blue quarter-zip and a burgundy track jacket. Carbon Impact is the plain black tracksuit bottom that goes with all of it. Section 3 covers the men's side in detail.
2 | The Women's Range, Piece by Piece
Across Sky Volt, Skyline and Elements the women's range breaks down into five product families. Here's how to choose within each.
Leggings — Sculpt vs Perky vs Flared
Red Run runs three legging fits, and most come in two lengths (regular and 7/8):
- Sculpt / Sculptured (Sky Volt blue, Skyline green) — the contoured performance fit, designed to hold shape through training. This is the legging the brand is best known for.
- Perky (Sky Volt charcoal, Skyline green) — the second performance fit, also offered in regular and 7/8, and the legging most of the matched sets are built around.
- Flared (Elements green) — the casual silhouette, in regular and 7/8. Less gym, more everyday.
On length: the brand's own steer — which matches what we see in the fitting room — is 7/8 for around 5'4" and under, regular for taller builds. Browse the full Red Run leggings collection to see every fit side by side.
Sports bras
Three styles at the time of writing: the Sky Volt Strappy bra in blue, the colour-block bras in Skyline green and Elements navy, and the Core sports bra in midnight blue. The Skyline colour-block bra also comes paired with the running shorts as a two-piece set. See the sports bras collection for live availability.
Shorts
Shorts are a Skyline speciality: colourblock running shorts, cycling shorts and sweater shorts, all in the range's green. Running shorts for output, cycling shorts under dresses or for studio work, sweater shorts for the casual end. All three live in the Red Run shorts collection.
Jackets
If you've searched "red run jacket", this is the shortlist. There are three jacket silhouettes across the women's ranges: the nylon track jacket (Sky Volt blue, Skyline green) — the classic zip-through that anchors the tracksuit sets; the cropped windbreaker (Sky Volt blue, Skyline green) — shorter, lighter, made to sit over high-waisted leggings; and the full-zip tech top (Sky Volt charcoal) — the softer mid-layer of the three. All are in the Red Run jackets collection, and each can be bought solo or as part of a set.
Sets
The fastest route to the full Red Run outfit. Current set formats include track jacket with sculptured leggings, cropped windbreaker with perky leggings or running shorts, sweater or tee with leggings, bra with shorts, and crew sweater with sweater shorts — over a dozen combinations across the three ranges, all in the women's tracksuits and sets collection.
Beyond the named ranges there's a handful of standalone pieces worth knowing about — a navy bodysuit, navy combat pants, woven track pants in a pink Neon Safari print and a relaxed pinstripe shirt — for the days you want Red Run without the gym signal.
3 | Men's Red Run — Tracksuits & Sets
The men's range is smaller than the women's but covers the full tracksuit logic, and it's where the "red run tracksuit" searches usually land.
Midnight Moss — the men's core
Midnight Moss is the range to know. The pieces: a khaki technical track jacket, khaki Power and navy Runner technical tees, navy adjustable technical trousers, navy panelled sports shorts and matching socks. Crucially, it's the men's range sold as complete sets:
- Track Jacket & Technical Trouser tracksuit set — the full khaki-over-navy tracksuit, and the flagship men's buy.
- Technical tee & sports short sets — khaki Power Tee or navy Runner Tee, each paired with the navy panelled short. The warm-weather training kit.
One detail we rate highly: on the tracksuit set's product page, the jacket size and the trouser size are selected independently — so a large jacket over medium trousers is one order, not two. More on that in the next section.
Crimson Wave — the layers
Crimson Wave is the technical layering line: a blue quarter-zip top and a burgundy track jacket. The quarter-zip works over either Midnight Moss tee; the burgundy jacket is the standout colour piece in the men's range.
Carbon Impact — the bottoms
Carbon Impact is currently a single, sensible product: black tracksuit bottoms. They pair with everything above — black under the burgundy Crimson Wave jacket is the easy off-duty combination.

4 | Full Set vs Separates — Which Way to Buy
Almost every Red Run outfit can be bought two ways: as a matched set in one order, or piece by piece. Live prices sit on every product page; here's the logic rather than the numbers.
The case for the set
The set is the simplest route to the matched look the brand is known for — jacket and leggings, tee and shorts, bra and shorts, in one colourway, cut to be worn together. It also protects you from the limited-batch problem: Red Run produces in deliberately small runs, so buying a jacket now intending to add the leggings later often means the leggings are gone. The men's tracksuit sets go one better — jacket and trouser sizes are chosen independently on the same product page, so mixed-size builds don't need to buy separates at all.
The case for separates
Separates win when you only need one half — replacing a single piece, adding a second legging fit to a jacket you already own, or pairing a Red Run shell with kit you have from another brand. Every jacket, legging, short, tee and bra in the ranges above is listed individually where stocked.
Worth knowing
- Limited-batch production means colourways don't restock reliably — when a drop sells through, the next one is usually new, not a repeat.
- When a size sells out of a set, the separates are often still available in that size — and vice versa. Check both before giving up.
- Men's tracksuit sets allow different jacket and trouser sizes in a single order.
5 | Best Red Run by Use-Case — Gym, Running, Casual, Matching Set
For the gym
Sculpt or Perky leggings with a strappy or colour-block bra. The brand's four-way stretch and moisture-wicking construction are doing the real work here — the knit is engineered to move and recover, and to hold its shape wash after wash. For men: Midnight Moss tee-and-short set, with the panelled sports short built for full-range movement.
For running
Red Run's name isn't an accident — of the activewear brands we stock, it's the one with the most running-first design philosophy. Skyline is the range to pick: colourblock running shorts or sculptured leggings, technical sports top, cropped windbreaker or nylon track jacket as the outer layer. Men's runners take the navy Runner Tee with the panelled short.
For casual wear
Elements for women — hoodie or cropped sweater over the flared leggings reads as considered loungewear rather than gym kit. For men, Carbon Impact black bottoms with any of the tees, or the full Midnight Moss tracksuit worn open over a plain tee.
For the matching set
If the brief is "one order, full outfit", go straight to the sets: the Skyline Track Jacket & Sculptured Legging Set is our women's bestseller, the Sky Volt windbreaker-and-leggings sets are the blue alternative, and the Midnight Moss tracksuit set is the men's answer.
The 10-second answer
Gym: Sculpt leggings + strappy bra (women), Midnight Moss tee & short set (men). Running: Skyline. Casual: Elements (women), Carbon Impact (men). Matching set: Skyline jacket & legging set or the Midnight Moss tracksuit. Still unsure? Call 01744 730985 and tell us what you'll use it for — we'll tell you straight.
6 | Red Run Sizing & Fit
We checked the live size options on the storefront while writing this guide. Women's pieces — including the Sky Volt track jacket and Sculpt leggings — list XXS to XL (six sizes). Men's pieces, including the Midnight Moss tracksuit set, list XS to XXL (six sizes). Per-size availability changes with each drop, so the product page selector is the final word.
Women's size conversion
The brand's published women's conversion maps the letter sizes to UK dress sizes:
| UK | Label | Bust (cm) | Waist (cm) | Hip (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | XXS | 77 | 59 | 86 |
| 8 | XS | 82 | 64 | 91 |
| 10 | S | 87 | 69 | 96 |
| 12 | M | 92 | 74 | 101 |
| 14 | L | 97 | 79 | 106 |
| 16 | XL | 102 | 84 | 111 |
How it fits
In our experience on the shop floor:
- True to size for the sculpted fit. The cut is comparable to mainstream performance brands — order what you normally wear and the four-way stretch adapts without looseness.
- Between sizes? Size up. That's the brand's own guidance and it matches what customers tell us.
- Legging lengths: 7/8 if you're around 5'4" or under, regular if taller.
- Oversized pieces are cut oversized. The Sky Volt and Skyline oversized tees are meant to drape — don't size down to fight it.
- Mixing sizes across an outfit is normal — and on the men's tracksuit sets you can do it within a single product page.

7 | Red Run Colourways — What Each Range Comes In
Red Run keeps each range to a tight palette, which is why the sets look so coherent. Drops rotate, so treat this as a guide to the current picture — the live Red Run collection shows exactly what's in stock today.
Women's
- Sky Volt — blue is the signature, with charcoal and white supporting. The blue track jacket, leggings and bra all match for a head-to-toe build.
- Skyline — green leads, with lime, cream and white accents across the baby tees, windbreaker tops and oversized tees.
- Elements — the broadest mix: blue hoodie, cream cropped sweater, green tees and flared leggings, navy sweaters and bra, peach on the organic-cotton socks.
- Standalones — navy bodysuit and combat pants, pink Neon Safari track pants, beige pinstripe shirt.
Men's
- Midnight Moss — khaki and navy, designed to pair: khaki jacket or tee over navy trousers or shorts.
- Crimson Wave — blue quarter-zip, burgundy track jacket.
- Carbon Impact — black.
Choosing a colourway
- First Red Run buy? Sky Volt blue (women) or Midnight Moss (men) — the deepest ranges, so easiest to add to later.
- Want one statement piece? The Skyline green windbreaker or the Crimson Wave burgundy jacket.
- Building a capsule? Stay inside one range — that's how the palettes are designed to work.

9 | Frequently Asked Questions
What brand is Red Run?
Red Run Activewear is an independent, Liverpool-born performance and streetwear brand, founded by designer Megan Kimmance — a UCLan design graduate with experience at Vivienne Westwood, KTZ and the Pyer Moss × Reebok collaboration. It's female-founded, ethically produced, and built around technical fabrics engineered for movement.
Is Red Run a new brand?
Relatively, yes — Red Run was founded in 2018, making it one of the younger names in British activewear. It began as a women's capsule and has since grown into a full performance line spanning women's ranges like Sky Volt, Skyline and Elements and a men's collection built around Midnight Moss, Crimson Wave and Carbon Impact.
Is Red Run a scouse brand?
Yes — Red Run is Liverpool through and through. The brand was born in Liverpool, its registered office is at Liverpool ONE, and its design language draws on the city's character. Its community roots are local too, from Liverpool training groups to British boxer Pierce O'Leary.
Where is Red Run Activewear made?
Design and production are UK-based, with limited EU support for specialist knit facilities. The brand works in limited batches with certified ethical labour standards, and uses recycled synthetics and organic cotton as core material inputs.
Is Red Run a good brand?
In our view from the shop floor, yes. The engineering is genuine — four-way stretch knits, moisture-wicking yarns, shape retention designed to survive repeated washing — and the limited-batch UK production gives it an integrity most mass-market activewear can't match. Of the activewear brands we stock, it's the most running-focused, and it sells through quickly.
Does Red Run make tracksuits?
Yes. On the women's side, tracksuit-style sets pair the nylon track jackets and windbreakers with Sculptured or Perky leggings or running shorts, across the Sky Volt and Skyline ranges. On the men's side, the Midnight Moss range includes a full track jacket and technical trouser tracksuit set, plus tee-and-short sets for warmer weather.
What sizes does Red Run come in?
Women's pieces we checked list XXS to XL — six sizes, mapping to roughly UK 6 to 16 on the brand's published conversion. Men's pieces list XS to XXL. In our experience the fit is true to size with a sculpted, athletic cut; if you're between sizes, size up.
Can you choose different sizes for the jacket and bottoms in a Red Run set?
On the men's Midnight Moss tracksuit set, yes — the product page lets you select the jacket size and trouser size independently in a single order. For women's sets, sizes are selected per set; if you need a different size in each half, buy the pieces as separates instead.
