2 | BOSS Sizes XL to 6XL — Explained
Hugo Boss menswear sizing uses a standard chest-letter system (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL). What changes inside the Big & Tall range isn't just the chest — it's the entire pattern grade.
Chest size
Steps up about 5cm (2 inches) per size. A standard BOSS 5XL chest sits roughly 134-140cm; 6XL runs 142-148cm. Always check the size guide on each product page for exact garment measurements.
Body length
Big & Tall pieces add roughly 4-6cm to the body length over the regular cut at the same chest. This stops shirts riding up on a longer torso — a common high-street fail.
Sleeve length
Sleeves grade up proportionally — typically 2-3cm longer at 5XL+ than at 3XL. Important for polos and t-shirts where short sleeves can finish at the wrong point on a longer arm.
Shoulder width
Shoulders widen by 1-2cm per step. Crucial for jackets and zip-throughs — a 5XL that grades chest only (no shoulder widening) pulls awkwardly when zipped.

The Big & Tall range at OD's is built around BOSS casual — the pieces that work for office-casual, weekend wear and dinner-out, not formalwear. We deliberately don't stock BOSS suits or formal tailoring in Big & Tall sizing.
Polo Shirts
The biggest part of the Big & Tall range. Across BOSS Black, BOSS Green and seasonal capsules — cotton pique, mercerised cotton, jersey and performance blends. Slim, regular and relaxed fits. Cotton-rich, hold shape across multiple wears. XL through 6XL where stocked.
T-Shirts
Crew-neck, V-neck, longline and graphic-print styles. BOSS Black logo tees through to BOSS Green athletic-cut performance tees. 100% cotton or cotton-modal blends across most lines. Sizing XL to 6XL where stocked.
Casual Jackets
Lightweight bombers, zip-through casual jackets, lightweight outerwear and gilets. Designed to layer over polos or knitwear — not formal blazers. Sizing typically XL to 4XL; selected lines extend higher.
Hoodies, Sweatshirts & Joggers
Athleisure-cut BOSS Green pieces — zip-through hoodies, pullover sweatshirts, tapered joggers. Heather grey, dark navy, charcoal and black across the line. Sizing typically XL to 4XL; selected 5XL.

4 | Big & Tall Fit Guide
The most common Big & Tall fitting mistake is sizing up on chest alone and ignoring length. Here's how to get a piece that hangs cleanly across all four axes.
How to measure
- Chest: Tape around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, level around the back. Stand relaxed — don't pull in.
- Waist: Tape around your natural waist (typically 1-2 inches above the navel). Don't suck in.
- Body length: From the base of the neck (where a shirt collar sits) straight down the spine to where you want the hem to finish.
- Sleeve length: For t-shirts and polos, from the shoulder point to where the sleeve should end (usually mid-bicep). For jackets and long-sleeve pieces, from the centre back of the neck, along the shoulder, down the arm to the wrist.
Picking the right size
- If your chest is between sizes — size up. The relaxed wear of an XL chest in a 2XL piece is preferable to a tight 2XL chest in a 3XL piece.
- If you're tall but slim-built (long torso, lower chest size) — a regular-fit 2XL with body-length grading will often sit better than a 3XL with length issues. Ask in-store: we can compare side-by-side.
- If you wear 5XL or 6XL at chest — body length is almost always graded for you automatically across BOSS lines. The harder check is shoulder width on jackets — try with the zip done up.

Does BOSS Big & Tall cost more than the regular range?
No. BOSS sells Big & Tall at the same RRP as the matching regular-size piece. Where you see a Big & Tall price premium elsewhere, it's the retailer's mark-up — not a BOSS pricing policy.
Is BOSS Big & Tall the same quality as the standard cut?
Yes — identical fabrics, construction and finishing. The only difference is the pattern grading (body length, sleeve, shoulder width all scale up proportionally). The piece you're holding at 5XL is built to the same standard as the M.
Can I actually buy BOSS in 6XL?
Yes — we stock selected BOSS pieces in 6XL, primarily polos and t-shirts. Most UK BOSS stockists cap at 4XL; OD's is one of the few going to 6XL. The live /collections/boss-big-tall page reflects what's in stock today.
How does BOSS Big & Tall fit compare to high-street Big & Tall ranges?
High-street Big & Tall (M&S, Next, BadRhino) is typically wider through the chest with longer body length, cut for fuller frames at lower price points. BOSS Big & Tall is graded more athletically — the shoulder and arm proportions stay close to the regular cut, scaled up — so it suits broader, taller, but more muscular builds.
Are BOSS Big & Tall polos slim or regular fit?
Both. BOSS Black "Phillipson", "Pallas" and "Pleins" runs slim. BOSS Green "Paddy" runs regular. BOSS Black "Pio" runs relaxed. Each product page lists the fit explicitly — and if between fits, our in-store team can show you the silhouette difference side-by-side.
