2 | Thompson vs Tessler vs Tiburt vs Tessin
BOSS Black uses named t-shirt silhouettes that stay broadly consistent season to season. The shape names tell you what you're buying — slim crew, slim with stretch, relaxed, or knitted-feel.
Thompson — Slim Fit Crew
The longest-running BOSS Black slim crew-neck. Close through the body without being tight, sits cleanly under a knit or open shirt. The most versatile BOSS tee — the one most customers come back to. The "H-Thompson" prefix denotes the current generation cut.
Tessler — Slim with Stretch
Same slim profile as Thompson but with a touch of elastane in the cotton blend for shape retention. The fabric stays cleaner across the day. The "H-Tessler" prefix is the current cut; numbers (150, 199, 202) indicate seasonal updates with minor tweaks.
Tiburt — Standard Regular Fit
A touch more room through the chest and waist than Thompson. The cleanest "I want a BOSS tee that doesn't try too hard" cut. Sits well on broader frames where slim feels close. Often the home for BOSS's seasonal print and stripe designs.
Tessin / Taut — Relaxed Cuts
Looser through the body and shoulders, slightly dropped sleeves. The modern relaxed BOSS Black silhouette — pairs with wider denim or relaxed trousers. Different overall mood to Thompson; choose based on the rest of the outfit.

BOSS Black C-Thompson, Tessin & Taut
The relaxed-fit BOSS Black cuts. Wider through the body, slightly dropped sleeves. Pairs well with relaxed-fit denim or wider chinos. Same cotton-rich construction; different silhouette.
BOSS Black Tiburt — Prints & Stripes
The home for BOSS Black's seasonal print, stripe and graphic designs. Regular fit. Strong choice when you want the BOSS look with a bit more visual interest than a plain crew.
BOSS Green Tee & Active Range

4 | BOSS T-Shirt Fit & Fabric
BOSS Black tee sizing uses standard chest letters (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL). The Thompson and Tessler silhouettes run true to size — they don't run small or large. If you're between sizes, base it on chest measurement rather than guesswork.
How to measure
- Chest: Tape around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, level around the back. Stand relaxed — don't pull in.
- Body length: From the base of the neck (where a shirt collar sits) straight down the spine to where you want the hem to finish.
- Shoulder: Across the back from one shoulder point to the other.
Picking the right BOSS tee
- If you currently wear a slim-fit tee and like it — Thompson or Tessler is the closest match.
- If slim feels too close through the chest or waist — Tiburt (regular) before Thompson.
- If you want a more relaxed shoulder and body — Tessin or Taut.
- For prints / stripes — Tiburt is where BOSS puts most of the seasonal graphic work.
- Between sizes — base on chest measurement. The BOSS Black cotton holds shape; it won't bag out over the day.

What is the difference between Thompson and Tessler?
Both are slim fit. Thompson is the longest-running BOSS Black slim crew in 100% cotton. Tessler is the same silhouette family with a small percentage of elastane added for shape retention. Tessler holds its cleaner-look longer across the day; Thompson has the softer hand-feel.
Are BOSS Black tees true to size?
Yes — BOSS Black sizing runs true. Thompson and Tessler in M sit on a 38-40 inch chest. If between sizes, base it on chest measurement — the cotton holds shape and won't shrink to fill space.
Will the colour fade after washing?

Do BOSS tees shrink after washing?
BOSS Black cotton is pre-shrunk. Expect minimal shrink (1-2%) over the first few washes if you wash cold and line dry. Hot wash + tumble dry will accelerate shrink — keep both cold and air-dry where possible.
What's the difference between H-Thompson and C-Thompson?
The H prefix denotes the current slim-fit Thompson cut. The C prefix denotes the relaxed-fit Thompson — wider through the body, slightly dropped sleeves. Same Thompson family, different silhouette.
